The Collins Quarter Review

Lavender Mocha & Avocado Toast

If you’ve been to The Collins Quarter before you may be hip, you may be sophisticated, or you may just be sipping on a Lavender Mocha feeling the two. It’s hard not to when you’re surrounded by mid-century inspired bent wood chairs and exposed brick and white lattice walls with pendant lighting. The wait staff parallels the atmosphere. They are trendy and professional, yet welcoming. Expect to see a beautiful flower arrangement every time you come in thanks to Lester’s Florist on Bull Street. I’m a flower addict aka the kid at recess who made clover flower chains around their neck.

Inside Collins Quarter
Naturally, the vibrant weekly displays always catch my eye. Champagne lines the bar shelves for those in the mood for mimosas or late night celebrating. Hello Veuve Clicquot! The signature “brekkie” menu at Collins Quarter isn’t overwhelming since there are only about ten items. Knowing my indecisive nature, I appreciate their quality over quantity approach.

The Brisket Hash

The Brisket Hash

The Avocado Toast is the go-to. I’d say it’s their staple menu item. Artisan Toast smothered with chunky Avocado then topped with Feta, Radish Slices, colorful Heirloom Tomatoes, and an oozing Poached Egg. What’s not to like? I opted to stray away from the usual and ordered the Brisket Hash. Flavorful Brisket, a Fried Egg and smeared Avocado atop what can best be described as a massive Tater Tot.  A light, yet citrusy Chimichurri Sauce surrounds the dish balancing the saltiness of the brisket. Usually packed on the weekend for brunch, I feel in peace this morning to enjoy what remains of my lavender mocha. Bits of lavender coat the cup rim. It’s sweet and satisfying my chocolate cravings. I trade it in for the check which is delivered in a blue mason jar signed with “cheers mate.”
